YOUTH IMPACT INITIATIVE

19% of all juvenile violent crimes occur between 3pm and 7pm on school days and juveniles are at the highest risk of being victimized during those same hours. 35% of 12 year-olds are left by themselves regularly while their parents are at work. The gap between parent work schedules and child school schedules can total up to 25 hours per week. These unsupervised hours pile risk into young lives and create a burden on single parents. By meeting this need we can demonstrate Christ's love in a practical way to these young people, and truly serve the entire community in Jesus' name.

STM's Youth Impact Initiative is working to create cooperation between churches to initiate new youth outreach ministries with the goal of creating afterschool drop-in centers in every school district in Wayne County. STM now operates programs in Sodus, Walworth, Newark and Marion. Take a look at the pages for each location!

These youth centers are powered by volunteers and partnerships with local churches. Linking these programs to stable communities of faith builds assets into the lives of young people.

County wide events like One Day, One Week and Youth Extreme also serve to unite various independent efforts into a county wide movement and encourage partnerships that stimulate youth outreach. Read more under "Youth Impact Events".
