STRATEGIC PLAN
INTRODUCTORY THOUGHTS:
-
STM ministry plan is designed to provide a helping guide towards God’s best for STM and the youth of Wayne County, not a restricting boundary around ministry possibilities.
-
STM’s ministry plan will be supported by the B.E.A.M.S. principles-- Building Relationships, Engaging Teens, Achieving our Potential, Making Disciples and Sacrificial Love.
-
STM’s ministry plan will be completed with awareness of the mission statement of “Taking Jesus’ love to the heart of today’s youth culture.”
-
STM’s ministry plan will be created with the more focused vision of changing what it means to grow up in Wayne County; the goal is that Wayne County young people will not reach adulthood without hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ at least once and having opportunity to respond.
-
STM’s ministry plan will emphasize a holistic approach to youth ministry by looking for opportunities to strengthen families, create opportunities for young people to succeed (i.e.education & career), and demonstrate a concern for the immediate and long term physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health of young people (YOUTH IMPACT INITIATIVE). This care will give opportunities to share the Gospel and validity to the messengers of the Gospel.
BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS:
STM will utilize Youth Impact to create, join or facilitate youth ministry networks—county wide and in each school district level.
STM will utilize Youth Impact to connect youth ministry efforts to students’ campus and to community businesses and agencies.
STM will invite churches to use Youth Impact events to build continuing relationships with young people and their families.
STM will connect local churches with training resources and events.
STM will use the STM newsletter, Church visits, press releases and fundraisers to build an awareness of STM and the mission.
ENGAGING TEENS:
STM will utilize Youth Impact to sponsor a county wide youth event annually.
STM will utilize Youth Impact to challenge churches within school districts to generate at least one monthly outreach event.
STM will utilize Youth Impact to initiate after-school drop-in ministries that—include rec, academic assistance, concerts, open jam sessions etc.
STM will offer Shoeshine Johnny’s, concerts and other traveling youth events to area churches in order to spark or enhance current Church youth ministry.
ACHIEVING POTENTIAL:
Steady repairs and improvements will be made to the building at 32 Mill Street.
A donor relations position will be established to increase responsiveness to current donors and create proactive potential in fundraising.
STM will seek supporter donations to maintain a staff person in each town with a youth center until a local church can sustain that position.
STM will maintain the position of Operations Director through supporters gifts.
STM will pay-off the debt owed at the 32 Mill St. facility.
STM will work to make 32 Mill St. a model youth facility for the purpose of training and modeling and reproducing effective youth ministry in other local villages.
STM will work to develop an internship program that produces strong youth workers.
Each ministry site will develop a written plan that describes ways young people will be introduced to the Gospel and how those young people will be nurtured and equipped.
MAKING DISCIPLES:
STM will recognize the preeminent role of the local Church in this role and work to consistently aide any local Church that has a heart to introduce Jesus to young people, nurture their faith, teach Biblical principles and Equip teens to reach their peers.
STM will help youth workers from local churches network and resource each other
STM will provide speakers, Bible studies and a resource library
STM will use staff positions as a means of discipleship and producing producers.
STM will work to induce Bible Clubs or Bible Study Breakfasts in school districts across the county.
SACRIFICIAL LOVE:
STM will remain more concerned about the Kingdom of God and the health of the local Church than the continuation of STM. |
